TGIF is a program pairing CSU student volunteers with teens in the community who have a variety of abilities and disabilities.  This unique program offers mutually beneficial relationships and learning for both teens and college students.  It promotes diversity and advocacy, and honors individuality and independence.  The TGIF community has patient, open-minded, and friendly volunteers who are committed to making a connection with their partners and fostering a healthy, engaging, and fun atmosphere at each event.  On Friday nights once or twice a month, the community gets together to participate in social activities including scavenger hunts, bowling, Halloween fun, CSU athletic events, swimming, movie nights, crafting, fun at Inspiration Park, and, everyone’s favorite – Prom!

Volunteers: New volunteer applications for the 2013-2014 school year will be available starting July 2013 for the fall semester.  Applications will be on RamLink.  The application process is first-come-first-serve, and we are looking for full-time students willing to challenge themselves, commit to the process, and join our special community.  Previous experience working with this population is not necessary, though certainly welcomed.  Please check back at the beginning of the academic school year if you are interested, or contact us over the summer to join our waiting list.  All applications are due by 5pm on Friday, September 6th, 2013.

Participants: Applications will be sent via email to current/returning participants welcoming people back for a new year.  Newly interested people wanting to join TGIF can contact the below information, request an application, and email it back to the TGIF email account.  The application process is first-come-first-serve; therefore we recommend applicants contact us sooner rather later as available positions fill up fast!  Though we will accept applications on an on-going basis, we request they be submitted by 5pm on Friday, September 13th, 2013.
