President's Leadership Program Mission and Objectives
Mission
The President's Leadership Program strives to develop active, informed citizen leaders who practice ethical, inclusive leadership and embody positive humanitarian characteristics such as optimism, service to others, passion, mindfulness and fairness.
Objectives
The President's Leadership Program will educate and develop students’ abilities in the following areas:
- Leadership theory, styles and practices
- Understand theoretical and philosophical foundations of leadership
- Value and effectively practice different leadership styles and skills
- Employ systemic, courageous, critical thinking skills in decision making, problem solving and action
- Personal development
- Commit to life-long learning, personal development and professional growth
- Develop and strengthen sense of self, including realistic self-appraisal of strengths and limitations
