CSU/UADY Student Leadership Experience 

The mission of the CSU/UADY Leadership Experience is to bring together students from Colorado State University and the Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan (UADY) for a meaningful leadership, service and language exchange. This exchange is hosted by Student Leadership, Involvement & Community Engagement (SLiCE) and the Office of International Programs.
The experience between CSU and UADY includes a trip to the Merida, Mexico during Spring Break (March 12-18, 2016). The experiences are as follows:
  1. Applications were due November 11th, 2015
  2. Spring Semester 2015. Weekly meetings are from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every Thursday.
  3. Spring Break (March 12 - March 17). Students from CSU will travel to Mérida, Yucatán for a leadership, service and Spanish language experience, partnering with UADY students.
    *Dates tentative and subject to change by a day or two based on airfare prices.
  4. Cost: TBA – will be approximately $1,300 + passport
    *Payments may be made in one-payment OR
    in three payments of $435: Dec. 1, Feb. 1, Mar. 1
Attendance at all experiences, in addition to preparation meetings, is mandatory for all student participants.

The specific goals of the exchange include:

  • Engaging students in experiences of domestic and international diversity
  • Exploring and applying the concepts of leadership and service to practical projects
  • Strengthening Spanish language skills
  • Learning about community needs in Fort Collins and Yucatan
  • Creating a sustainable, long-term student exchange between CSU and UADY students
